Georgian Mathematical Union has already quitted with a rather serious debts to the International Mathematical Union (IMU) and European Mathematical Society (EMS). 

 New management of the GMU, elected in December 2009, prior to his election in June 2009 had initiated a company to quit with debts and to start new programs  to raise popularity of mathematics in Georgia, especially among the young generation. For this purpose we have started to collect donation among members of the Union and succeeded to raise fees for 6 years which we owe to the International Mathematical Union. We have organized the successful 5-th Congress of GMU in 2009 and I International Conference of GMU in Batumi and have big plans to invite outstanding mathematicians from over the world to deliver popular lectures in Georgia, to distinguish our young colleagues for their achievement in mathematics and so on.

If You wish to support our plans and donate money to the Georgian Mathematical Union, we are very thankful. Our plans are very transparent and all actions will be posted on our WEB    http://www.rmi.acnet.ge/~GMU/
