THIRD ANNUAL CONFERENCE OF THE GEORGIAN MATHEMATICAL UNION

First Announcement

The Georgian Mathema­ti­cal Union organizes the Third Annual Conference on September 2-9, 2012, in Batumi, Black Sea resort of Georgia. For the information about the city see:

Weather (and water!) in September is still warm in Batumi and one can enjoy a “velvet season” there. 

The Conference venue is Batumi Sh. Rustaveli State University.

 In the framework of the conference the anniversary sessions will be held.

Section

Participants wishing to organize sections are invited to send applications not later than June 15, 2012. To launch a new section there should be at least five applications of participants to this section

Conference fees  

Full participation 80 GEL (50 USD)

Master and Ph.D. Students 40 GEL (25 USD)

Abstract submission

• Abstracts should be prepared in LaTex according standard template files and should not exceed 1 page. We kindly ask you to follow the rules, indicated in the template files
• The abstract template file is downloadable from the conference WEB.
• Participants have to submit the LaTeX-source and PDF files of abstracts by e-mail to the address

Visa information:   Visa affair is the easiest part of the travel. Citizens of many countries do not need an entrance visa for Georgia (citizens of EU countries, USA, Japan, Israel, Turkey, Canada, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Moldova, Ukraine, etc.). Citizens of some countries, including citizens of Russia, can obtain a visa while crossing the border of Georgia at official checkpoints, including all airports of Georgia.

Travel information: Batumi can be reached both from Tbilisi and from Istanbul by airplane (daily flights in Summer). The airport is very close to the city. Batumi is about 350 km west from Tbilisi, about 6 hours by train, bus, or car.

Accommodation:  Information about hotel accommodation in Batumi can be found at the conference WEB page.  If you need our help, you have to send us your choice and exact dates of arrival and departure before Jule 1. We will negotiate with hotel administrations and mail you the Invoice until Jule 15, which you should pay by a bank transfer prior Jule 30 to the hotel administration or to Georgian mathematical Union.

Social events:  a wide range of social programs including city tours and visits to historical places will be available.
